New to IY

Welcome to Indigo Yoga

WELCOME

Indigo opened in Fort Worth, Texas on May 8, 2006.

The majority of our classes are All Levels Flow, but we also offer a variety of specialty classes, including Slow Flow, Music + Flow, Foundations, Integrative Mindfulness and Flow, YOD, and Meditation. Our aim is to offer something for everyone, regardless of age, ability, fitness goal, and/or experience.

Within our community, relationships are built and friendships are borne. Our instructors and members are inclusive and always ready to welcome new yogis into the family. Our front desk staff is there to support and assist you, making your Indigo experience a positive one.

INFORMATION ABOUT OUR PRACTICE

  WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS

For in-studio, bring everything you need for practice! A skid-less yoga mat, sweat towel, and water bottle are a must. We highly encourage you to bring a yoga block, as well. You may also choose to bring a mat towel and/or strap. Refillable water stations are in several locations in our studios.

For your virtual practice, a mat and a block may be all you need.

  WHAT CAN I BUY ?

In-studio, we have mats, mat towels, blocks, and straps for purchase, as well as other retail such as books and apparel.

  WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Wear whatever makes you comfortable! That said, we advise not wearing too loose of clothing, as it generally gets in the way of your practice. Breathable, athletic fabric is also optimal. Please be mindful of clothing that is see through, or does not provide enough appropriate coverage.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR CLASS?

Having something small and fueling before class, such as a piece of fruit or a smoothie, can be helpful. You want to avoid large, heavy meals for at least one hour before class. Hydration takes 24 hours, so drink plenty of water before, during and after class, especially if practicing in-studio.

  ARE ALL IN-STUDIO CLASSES HEATED?

Yes, our classes are heated between 93-96 degrees.

We do keep a "cool zone" with fans on low throughout practice.

If you prefer to not practice in heat, please join us virtually!

DO I NEED TO BE FLEXIBLE TO DO YOGA?

Not at all! You may even find the in-studio heat to be helpful in accessing your flexibility.

WHAT IF I'M LATE TO CLASS? OR NEED TO LEAVE EARLY?

No worries! We understand that life happens, and we allow students to join in-studio classes after the class has started. All we ask is that you enter and exit the practice space mindfully.

If you are preregistered for a class that is sold out, we can hold your reservation until five minutes after class begins.

For virtual classes, you may join at any time.

  DO YOU HAVE SHOWERS?

We do! At this time, showers are available Monday - Friday, 6am - 3pm. Please bring your own bath towel.

WHAT CLASSES SHOULD I DO IF I'M PREGNANT?

Though all of our classes can be suitable for women during any stage of their pregnancy, we suggest you consult your doctor for any exceptions, including pace, heat, etc.

Contact us at info@indigoyoga.net with questions.

WHAT CLASSES SHOULD I DO IF I'M WORKING WITH AN INJURY AND/OR LIMITATION?

Our instructors can advise you on adapting your practice to fit your needs within any class. You may also find some of our specialty classes, such as Slow Flow, Foundations, and/or Integrative Mindfulness and Flow, to be a good fit.

CAN MY KID JOIN ME IN CLASS?

Of course!

8-17yrs old can join their parent/guardian for an in-studio class for $25.

We also have our Youth Yoga membership (for anyone under 17yrs old) that offers limitless virtual and in-studio classes for $38/month (parent/guardian must be a member).

HOW DO I STAY UP TO DATE?

We want you to always be up to date on the community, special events, programs, and new classes.

NATANA with January Shannon on Saturday, September 25th, from 1:00-2:30pm.

In this workshop, named after Natarajasana, or Lord of the Dance Pose, your practice will become an actual dance. We will practice fluid transitions and then you will learn a simple choreography, allowing you to experience continuous motion in synch with the rhythm of music and with your classmates. You will take with you creative, graceful new ways to transition through postures, as well as how this sort of mindful movement can benefit you in your regular yoga practice, and even in your daily life. It will be both fun and therapeutic for anyone who wants to experience something new and loves music.
