About Indigo Yoga Studio

WELCOME

Indigo opened on May 8, 2006 as the only Baptiste Affiliate studio in Fort Worth, TX. Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga is a style based off Baron Baptiste’s ‘Journey into Power’ sequence and methodology. We strive to maintain the quality, standards and effectiveness of the Baptiste practices and principles.

In addition to our Baptiste All Levels classes, we also offer a variety of specialty classes, including Slow Flow, Music + Flow, Vinyasa-Restorative, Basics, Integrative Mindfulness and Flow, Non-Heated All Levels, and Meditation. Our aim is to offer something for everyone, regardless of age, ability, fitness goal, and/or experience.

Within our studios, relationships are built and friendships are borne. Our instructors and members are inclusive and always ready to welcome new yogis into the family. Our front desk staff is there to support and assist you, making your Indigo experience a positive one.

INFORMATION ABOUT OUR PRACTICE

  WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS

A skid-less yoga mat, sweat towel, and water bottle. Mat and towel can also be rented from the studio and refillable water stations are in several locations in our studios.

WHAT CAN I BUY, BORROW, RENT?

We have mats, mat towels, and beverages for purchase. You may borrow sweat towels, free of charge. We have mats and mat towels for rent.

  WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Wear whatever makes you comfortable! That said, we advise not wearing too loose of clothing, as it generally gets in the way of your practice. Breathable, athletic fabric is also optimal. Please be mindful of clothing that is see through, or does not provide enough appropriate coverage.

HOW DO I PREPARE FOR CLASS?

Having something small and fueling before class, such as a piece of fruit or a smoothie, can be helpful. You want to avoid large, heavy meals for at least one hour before class. Hydration takes 24 hours, so drink plenty of water before, during and after class.

  ARE ALL CLASSES HEATED?

Classes at our Academy (7th Street) location vary. Our 6am and 5:30pm classes are heated to 96 degrees. The 9ams Sunday - Friday are mildly heated to 80-85 degrees. Our Vinyasa-Restorative classes, as well as the 9am on Saturdays, are not heated.

All the classes at our Westside (Pershing) studio are heated to 96 degrees, as per Baptiste standards.

CAN YOU GIVE MORE DETAILS ON SPECIALTY CLASSES?
DO I NEED TO BE FLEXIBLE TO DO YOGA?

Not at all. You may even find the heat to be helpful in accessing your flexibility.

WHAT IF I'M LATE TO CLASS? OR NEED TO LEAVE EARLY?

No worries! We understand that life happens, and we’d rather you have some yoga than no yoga at all. All we ask is that you enter and exit the practice space mindfully.

WHAT IS THE ETIQUETTE AT YOUR STUDIOS?

We love for our students and staff to chat while they’re in the lobby before and after class. Within the practice space, we request soft voices, no cell phones, and no shoes.

  DO YOU HAVE SHOWERS?

Yes! We have full showers at both locations.

WHAT CLASSES SHOULD I DO IF I'M PREGNANT?

Though all of our classes can be suitable for women during any stage of their pregnancy, we suggest you consult your doctor for any exceptions, including pace, heat, etc.

Contact us at info@indigoyoga.net with questions.

WHAT CLASSES SHOULD I DO IF I'M WORKING WITH AN INJURY AND/OR LIMITATION?

Our instructors can advise you on adapting your practice to fit your needs within any class. You may also find some of our specialty classes, such as Slow Flow, Vinyasa-Restorative, Basics, and/or Integrative Mindfulness and Flow, to be a good fit.

CAN MY KID JOIN ME IN CLASS?

Of course! Kids eight years old or older are more than welcome to join you on the mat. You can either pay for the Day Pass ($25) or, if you’re a member, they can get the Youth Yoga membership for $38/month (8yr-17r). A parent must accompany youth members when they practice.

HOW DO I STAY UP TO DATE?

We want you to always be up to date on the community, special events, programs, and new classes.

INDIGO

HISTORY

Indigo Yoga opened on May 8, 2006 off Camp Bowie Boulevard in Fort Worth, TX. The initial studio was just big enough to allow for twenty students per class. In the summer of 2008, we added an additional studio space that allowed for forty students. Then, in the spring of 2010, we expanded into a space that allowed for one hundred students.

By 2016, it was time to expand even further. First, we built a state-of-the-art studio off Pershing Avenue, just down the road from our original location, complete with locker rooms, showers, a staff lounge, and meditation room. Additionally, we opened our first pop-up studio off Commerce Street in Sundance Square, where we held Brooke Hamblet Teacher Training sessions and electives, as well as Vinyasa-Restorative and Non-Heated All Levels classes.

Indigo is a Baptiste Affiliate Studio, meaning we have an on-going relationship with the Baptiste Power Yoga Institute to maintain the quality, standards and effectiveness of the Baptiste Vinyasa Yoga practices and principles.
