Welcome to Indigo Yoga

WELCOME

Indigo opened in Fort Worth, Texas on May 8, 2006. 

Our aim is to offer community, education and celebration. 

We have a variety of asana classes, including All Levels Flow, Slow Flow, Music + Flow, Foundations, Integrative Mindfulness + Flow, and YOD, as well as meditation classes.

All of our classes are heated (96*) and suitable for all levels. 

INFORMATION ABOUT OUR PRACTICE

  WHAT TO BRING TO CLASS

For in-studio, bring everything you need for practice! A skid-less yoga mat, sweat towel, and water bottle are a must. We highly encourage you to bring a yoga block, as well. You may also choose to bring a mat towel and/or strap. Refillable water stations are in several locations in our studios.

For your virtual practice, a mat and a block may be all you need. 

  WHAT CAN I BUY ?

In-studio, we have mats, mat towels, blocks, and straps for purchase, as well as other retail such as books and apparel. 

 

  WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?

Wear whatever makes you comfortable! That said, we advise not wearing too loose of clothing, as it generally gets in the way of your practice. Breathable, athletic fabric is also optimal. Please be mindful of clothing that is see through, or does not provide enough appropriate coverage.

  HOW DO I PREPARE FOR CLASS?

Having something small and fueling before class, such as a piece of fruit or a smoothie, can be helpful. You want to avoid large, heavy meals for at least one hour before class. Hydration takes 24 hours, so drink plenty of water before, during and after class, especially if practicing in-studio. 

  ARE ALL IN-STUDIO CLASSES HEATED?

Yes, our classes are heated between 93-96 degrees. 

We do keep a "cool zone" with fans on low throughout practice. 

If you prefer to not practice in heat, please join us virtually!

  DO I NEED TO BE FLEXIBLE TO DO YOGA?

Not at all! You may even find the in-studio heat to be helpful in accessing your flexibility.

  WHAT IF I'M LATE TO CLASS? OR NEED TO LEAVE EARLY?

No worries! We understand that life happens, and we allow students to join in-studio classes after the class has started. All we ask is that you enter and exit the practice space mindfully.

If you are preregistered for a class that is sold out, we can hold your reservation until five minutes after class begins. 

For virtual classes, you may join at any time. 
 

  DO YOU HAVE SHOWERS?

We do! Our showers are available from the time we open until the start of the last class of the day. Please bring your own bath towel. 

  WHAT CLASSES SHOULD I DO IF I'M PREGNANT?

Though all of our classes can be suitable for women during any stage of their pregnancy, we suggest you consult your doctor for any exceptions, including pace, heat, etc.

  WHAT CLASSES SHOULD I DO IF I'M WORKING WITH AN INJURY AND/OR LIMITATION?

Our instructors can advise you on adapting your practice to fit your needs within any class. You may also find some of our specialty classes, such as Slow Flow, Foundations, and/or Integrative Mindfulness and Flow, to be a good fit.

  CAN MY KID JOIN ME IN CLASS?

Of course!

8-17yrs old can join their parent/guardian for an in-studio class for $25.

We also have our Youth Yoga membership (for anyone under 17yrs old) that offers limitless virtual and in-studio classes for $38/month (parent/guardian must be a member).

 

  HOW DO I STAY UP TO DATE?

Going on about our business in times like these is not easy. I believe that it’s important to continue forward as best we can and for me, that means following through with the playlist I’ve been planning for months and making this silly video that I’ve also been planning for months.

April 1st I completed the @indigoyoga  challenge of 108 days of yoga in 6 months.  I loved the challenge and learned a lot about myself: 

Accepting where I am at and not pushing past pain was huge. 

Respecting myself for where I am at in the moment.

Consistency even on days where I spent most of my time in child’s pose or physical therapy exercises.

Letting go of where I thought I should be. 

Finding opportunities for growth by determining when I am ready to push myself in a safe way. 

I’ve been practicing yoga for over 15 years.  Most of that has been with Indigo yoga.  The atmosphere there is filled with love, compassion, growth, strength, kindness, and support. 

I’m two months into my next 108 day challenge!
