Kila believes teaching yoga was a calling for her. She turned to yoga for its physical benefits and as a welcome change to the traditional forms of exercise she had always practiced. As her knowledge grew and she experienced first-hand the additional mental, emotional and spiritual benefits of yoga, it became a passion she needed to share with others. She has now taught yoga in Fort Worth for almost ten years and to over 20,000 students. In her words, “Although I originally started teaching to share the benefits of yoga with others, I soon learned that it truly is the people that I come into contact with that lights me up! I absolutely love being around people, getting to know them, their own personal journeys and watching them transform their lives through this practice!” One of Kila’s fellow teachers said this about her, “Kila’s love for life and the practice of yoga is infectious. She is encouraging, challenging and inspires each person she has the opportunity to connect with to grow, strengthen and love their lives, no matter what.”
Kila has practiced and studied yoga from Texas to Tulum to Thailand and many places in between. In addition to having both her 200 and 300RYT through the Yoga Alliance, and accumulating many hours with master teachers such as Baron Baptiste, Tias Little, and Seane Corn, Kila is certified in health and wellness through The Institute of Integrative Nutrition, and trained in the use of essential oils and aromatherapy. Her specialty is private, one-on-one instruction in all areas of healthy living.
Kila lives passionately and believes in a life of service to others, she loves to travel and has been all over the world. Her greatest joy in life is being a mother and she has three wonderful children - two sons and a daughter.
