A multi-linguist who can speak Italian, German, French, and English, Alessandra was born and raised in Italy. After her move to the United States, her relationship with yoga blossomed and developed out of a need for relief from everyday pain. Alessandra walked into Indigo Yoga for the first time in 2011. Uncertain what to expect, she experienced an instant connection as the class got underway.
"The stress of life's events was so unmanageable for me," says Alessandra. "I didn't have the right tools or mindset to deal with things, and I was in great mental and physical pain. My first practice left me wondering, what if I come back and learn more, slow down, and shift my vision?"
The compassion Alessandra experienced from her first instructor, along with the intensity of the workout, inspired her to return time and again, everyday until a scheduled surgery forced her to momentarily abandon the practice.
"I had a three level cervical fusion," says Alessandra. "I missed the Asana practice so much, but was able to get back to it after a year. I am now much stronger, a fact that I owe completely to yoga."
In 2016, this mother, "hip grandmother", and wife of a fellow yogi decided to follow her dream of teacher certification. A trip to Minnesota saw her attend the Art of Assisting, which led to her participation in the 40 Days program. From there, Alessandra completed Level One, Level Two, and Baptiste's Kid Yoga certification. Still not fianished, Alessandra went on to complete teacher training through Brooke Hamblet Teacher Training School.
"What a journey it's been!" says Alessandra. "I have personally grown so much here, and am thrilled every time I get to share my passion for the healing practice of Baptiste Yoga."
