Twenty Octobers with this community
October 1, 2026

Fall is when practices get built. The summer scatter ends and the room finds its rhythm again. This October arrives with something extra on the wall. Fort Worth Magazine, the Star-Telegram, and 360West each asked their readers to name the best yoga studio in town this year, and all three landed on 5111 Pershing. Three votes, one answer. We are grateful.
And a number we cannot stop watching: 958,000 visits since 2006. The millionth is coming, and it will be somebody reading this. Every one of those visits was a person deciding to show up. Thank you for being one of them.
Fort Worth, thank you.
And last week the Camp Bowie District honored Indigo for twenty years in business. We are proud to be part of the district, and we support everything they do to protect the bricks.
“Best class I’ve ever had. Ever. Had not taken her class before and now I’m looking for her on the schedule as often as possible.”
Jeffrey C., after Jen Villegas’s class, September 1

Flow + Yin
Mondays and Wednesdays, 7:30 PM
Half the class moves.Half of it holds still.
The flow builds heat, strength, and mobility. The yin uses that warmth for long, still holds on the floor. You leave grounded, refreshed, and restored.
First half: move
The all levels flow you already know. Standing, moving, breathing with the room. Builds the heat the second half uses.
Second half: hold
Long, still holds on the floor, minutes not breaths. Props do the work. You let go. Hips, spine, and shoulders get the time.

Pose of the Month
Goddess Pose, from Kiersten Barriss
Utkata Konasana. Utkata means fierce. Kona means angle.

Toes turned out, thighs sinking toward parallel, hands to heart, and then you stay. Kiersten’s three cues for the month: knees tracking over your toes, tailbone long, weight through all four corners of your feet. As the weeks go on you will see heel lifts, a twist, and a few arm variations. When it gets uncomfortable, that is the pose working.
Her line for October: “Get comfortable being uncomfortable.”

New on the site
Hear the class before you get there.
Our teachers build a playlist the way they build a sequence, with a beginning, a peak, and a landing. Now they post the Spotify sets behind their classes on our site. Press play and you are hearing the room before you walk into it. Follow one, take it home, or send it to the friend who keeps saying they would come if they knew what it was like.
Did you know?
You can print the next seven days from home.
The weekly schedule page shows the next seven days from today, with whoever is actually teaching each class, subs marked. It prints on one page. Days across, times down, made for the fridge door.

Ask at the desk
Which of our teachers lived in Australia?
Jeka Sisco, Tanya Charfen, or Robbin Hallford.
The answer lives at the studio. Ask whoever is at the desk, or ask the teacher.

A review helps the next person walk in.
Most people read what you wrote before they ever try a class. If Indigo has meant something to you, a few honest lines on Google, Yelp, or TripAdvisor go a long way.

Keep showing up. 💜
